Where you will stay

Elendar is an authentic Morpeth cottage in the historic heart of the Hunter Valley. The cottage can accommodate up to 6 people with two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room. The main bedroom has a queen sized French wrought iron bed with French doors opening to the front verandah. It has a luggage rack, hanging space with wooden hangers, a small work desk and lamp and an antique bentwood chair. The second bedroom has a Hampton's style double bed and a large built-in wardrobe, luggage rack and antique chair.

The lounge/dining area is a beautiful open plan room with French doors that open onto the front verandah. The home is decorated with an eclectic mix of antiques and modern furnishings as well as photographs and artefacts from our travels.

The Elendar kitchen has a rustic cottage feel but we have fitted it out with new appliances (such as a Smeg oven) and an abundance of kitchenware for those of you who would like to sample our fabulous local produce.

Elendar has one bathroom, a separate toilet and a separate laundry. The front verandah is sheltered and cozy (perfect for morning coffee) and at the back there is a private outdoor entertaining area with outdoor furniture, a new barbeque and a fire pit.

Elendar has a very efficient reverse-cycle air conditioning unit in the lounge/dining area (which covers most of the house and the second bedroom which also has a ceiling fan). The main bedroom has its own air conditioning unit and a ceiling fan. There is also a very efficient gas heater in the family room for when you're cuddled up in front of the television. Elendar also has off-street parking for up to 3 cars.

Elendar is child friendly and pet friendly for small dogs who are not escape artists. The yard is fenced but larger dogs would be able to jump the fences easily (we know, we've seen it).

Come and stay in Morpeth where you can stroll around the cobbled streets, first settled in the 1820’s, picnic along the rambling Hunter River, dine in our cafes, restaurants and pubs, shop in the specialty stores and soak up the country hospitality.
